Alexandria "Alex" Danaë Schwartz

Alexandria “Alex” Schwartz of Knoxville went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 6, 2024 with her loving husband, Jonathan, by her side. Alex gained her crown of eternal life after an enduring battle with cancer in which her faith never wavered. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ, family, friends, sports, and the Tennessee Volunteers! Alex played basketball, volleyball, softball, and coached youth sports in the Karns community and volleyball at Karns High School. As a devoted member of Faith Promise Church, she was driven to serve in the children’s ministry for the past 12 years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jonathan Schwartz; son, Jace Alexander Schwartz; bonus children, Kenley Barber (Colton), Jaxson and Jarrett Schwartz; father and mother, Ronald Sexton and Robin Sexton; sister, Nikki Estridge (Matt); brother, Sean Sexton (Jewel); nephews, Styles and Brooks Estridge, Wilder and Asher Sexton, and niece Adalee Sexton. Alex also leaves behind many prayer warriors from her church, small group, friends, co-workers, and extended family members. The family would like to recognize the medical providers and support staff of Thompson Oncology, East Tennessee Radiation Oncology, and Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Faith Promise Church, Pellissippi Campus, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Dr. Chris Stephens officiating. “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” - James 1:12 NLT.  The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
