Rev. Albert “Bud” Tipton age 96 of Corryton went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He preached his first message May 1950 and his last message October 2, 2022. He pastored churches in Knox, Union and Anderson County. Member of Atkins Baptist Church and a World War II U. S. Army veteran. Preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Tindell Tipton, Parents: Harvey and Stella Tipton, Sisters: Della, Maebell and Clara, grandson: Baby Clint Weaver. Survived by children: Daughters; June (Everett) Weaver, Jane (Carl) Miller and Jeanie (Billy) Mounger, Sons: Mike (Ann) Tipton and Stevie Tipton. Brother: William (Bill) Tipton, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to U. T. Hospice nurses and Dr. Fred Hurst. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service, Rev. Jerry Vittatoe and Rev. A. C. Cooper officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:15 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Blaines Chapel Church Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service with full military honors provided by the Tri County Honor Guard.
