Albert Allen Lewis, age 87 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden and 4A “Encouragers” Sunday School class, and a FISH Ministries outreach volunteer. Al was an avid golfer, often out-putting the rest of his fierce foursome, Dave Anderson, Dick Biggs and Archie Fendley. He was also a Little League baseball coach, baseball fan, University of Tennessee “VOLS” fan and a handy jack-of-all-trades. Al was a 1952 graduate of Halls High School and varsity football letterman. Before returning to Knoxville in 1965, Al lived in Titusville, Florida and worked at Cape Canaveral. In Knoxville, he worked as supervisor and plant manager at Allied Chemical Corporation until his retirement, at which time he became co-founder and owner of APCA Finishers, Inc. Al is preceded in death by his beloved parents Bernard and Flossie Lewis; sister Marjorie Mae Lewis Hargis; daughter Sonya Lewis Brooks; and granddaughter Tagan Brooks. Al is survived by his wife and love of his life, Carol Roy Lewis; son he admired, Tony Lewis (Julia) and daughter he adored, Tonya Bedwell (Jerry); grandchildren Chase Lewis, Channing Lewis Munsey (Aaron), Brittany Byrd Reed (Corey), Kristian Byrd, Tyler Byrd (Trisha), Jessica Weaver, Autumn Brooks Davin (Aaron); sister Kay Lewis Key (Jim) of Big Stone Gap, VA; stepchildren Holly Foutch Scruggs (Richard) and her children Harper and Hollins Wolfe, Hannah Foutch Smith (Matthews) and children Griffin, Baylor and Hudson, and Heidi Foutch Pontius (Cody); 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 5:00pm until the funeral service at 7:00pm at Central Baptist Church of Bearden, 6300 Deane Hill Dr., with Rev. Archie Fendley and Rev. Mark Moreland officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 2329 E. Brushy Valley Dr. in Powell, for an 11:00am graveside service. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at University of Tennessee Medical Center, particularly University Cancer Specialists, University Cardiology, and the staff on 7 West and 8 West.
